Update for June 6, 2006

CCSP -No till Farm

News for the Week:

Hi,

Planting still continues on the farm.  I was able to get through some of the wet wheat plots with the concorde shank drill, so in order to keep the rotation, I planted wheat the first of June.  Most all of the plots have dried up pretty well.  We finished corn on May 30.  I asked the guys in Cenex if it was still too late to plant corn! They said, yes Kelly.  I guess it all depends on what July is like.  The corn has seemed to emerged well. The earliest corn is 4 leaf.  We have some thing pulling out the young plants. Probably blackbirds, gophers, pheasants and or other wildlife. The wheat is coming along well, along with the flax.  I just stream nozzled the flax last night with 35 # N with 3 parts water. We did not see any burn today.

Hope your spring has went well.

Have a good week.
