April 11, 2007

Not much changing since last week. More snow today with no big warm up in sight. 60 for Monday which sure beats 25, but we need some heat, and for more than 1 day! Oh well, should not start complaining yet, but I am getting anxious.

As you can see the winter wheat looks OK in the snow. I really don't think we will have any problems, the ground is moist and there is snow cover.  I would not want to venture any guesses on the crop down south, but in visiting with some local experienced winter wheat growers I think we are just fine so far.

I was hoping to see if the foxtail barley was knocked down by the late application of Glyphosate last  fall. By next week the snow should be gone.

I still have some corn and beans to sell. The market seems to be waiting for weather problems to go up.

Have a good week.
