After a long dry spell, we got a nice rain, 2.05 at the farm and probably more on the south side. Up to 5 inches fell just a few miles to the east. We did the early beans on Tuesday, before the rain. They combined well. Yield was low 30s, which I thought was pretty good for the year. Since we are transitioning to a different larger plot arrangement, no winter wheat or alfalfa planting this fall, which seems really strange! The corn is about 99% dead. Dried up. I would not be surprised to be harvesting that as soon as the rest of the beans come off.
